Lawn Care: Questions & Answers

Q.  We treated the lawn for moss in the autumn and raked it out but it has got worse. What would cause that?

A. Moss is best treated with moss killer in the spring but allow time for it to die off and go brown. If you rake it out too soon it spreads the spores. Consider as well what may be the cause so you can take action such as scarifying, aerating and spiking, cutting back shading and not cutting the grass too short.
