Lawn Care: Questions and Answers

Q. We have areas of dead grass in rings right next to the green grass. What is this and what can we do?

A. These are most likely ‘fairy rings’ which are areas where fungus in the soil causes the grass to repel water and die back. Spike and aerate from outside the ring inwards. Fertilise and seed bare patches in September/October.
