Lawn Care: Questions & Answers

Q. I have prepared an area to lay turf for a new lawn. When is the best time to lay it? Can I do it now or do I need to wait until March or April?


A. The optimum time to lay turf would be September through November but if the ground is neither frozen nor waterlogged there is no reason why it cannot be laid in February. March and April are fine so long as you water if it’s dry. May to August are not the best because the ground dries out.
