Lawn Care: Questions & Answers

Q. Bare patches have appeared on the lawn after the winter, do I need to re-turf?

A. Generally, you can treat bare patches by re-seeding at the end of March if you are in a mild area. Consider though what might be the cause to take effective action. Areas in shade under trees and shrubs may be patchy and it’s worth considering planting shade-tolerant plants in place of grass.
