Q. We have a lot of mole hills appearing on the lawn and some areas of grass have died off. What’s the best way to deal with them?
A. Moles sometimes tunnel near the surface which can kill the grass. You can seal the hills and drop a tablet of aluminium phosphide into the run which releases a gas to kill the mole. Trapping is best done by a professional. Both methods are most effective from October through April, before the breeding season.
