Lawn Care: Questions and Answers

Q. Why should I aerate the lawn and when should it be done?

A. Over time, traffic on the lawn, be it human or machine, leads to compaction problems and poor grass growth. Aeration increases oxygen in the soil, breaks down compaction and thatch and provides drainage. It can be done at any time except when the soil is wet. It’s also environmentally friendly.
