Lawn Care: Questions and Answers

Q. We have rings of darker, taller grass on the lawn and mushrooms have appeared. Can you explain this?
A. These are most like what are known as ‘fairy rings’ and if they are causing no actual damage (some types do) it’s best to remove and compost the funghi (some may be poisonous) and apply nitrogen or iron around the affected area.
