Lawn Care: Questions & Answers

Q. We have small, circular reddish brown spots on the lawn. This happened last year as well, but disappeared in the autumn. Now it’s back.

A. This sounds like it could be take-all patch, which suggests you have fine, bent grass (Agrostis). It is a fungus and occurs with drought. Good lawn management will help, but you may need to seek professional lawn help if it worsens.
