Lawn Care: Questions & Answers

Q. I have a tree on my lawn and it has pushed a root above the surface which makes mowing difficult. What can I do?

A. If it’s a slender root it can be chopped out. Use a spade or edging iron to cut and peel back turves and chop off the root. If it’s a big root, consider creating a bed around the tree.
